Opacity Series

Remaining pieces currently available at artEAST Art Center (Issaquah, WA)

Completed July 2017

A series of rage art paintings exploring layers of emotion and how some of those emotions are more transparent and more open than others. Real, fake, illusion, privilege, competition, sovereignty, speculation, and constant access to commentary and everyone's take on current events are underlying themes in this work. Unlike my previous rage art series, this one unfolded slowly with curiosity and objectivity. 11x14", acrylic on paper, mounted on board.

Beautifuls

This series was created in 2013 to celebrate beauty as an expression of wholeness and embracing our full, human selves. They are watercolor paint and gold ink poured and layered while wet on Yupo (synthetic paper). After drying, each painting was carefully machine stitched and then affixed to a custom mat, inscribed, "Being fully you is beautiful."
